Kevia's collections primarily consists of gold vermeil jewelry, which are pieces made from sterling silver and dipped in 22k gold. We also make sterling silver, and gold filled jewelry. All of our jewelry can be cleaned in the same manner. We recommend using a sterling silver jewelry dip (liquid cleaner), which unlike regular jewelry cleaner will remove tarnish. Dip jewelry in the liquid for 30 to 60 seconds and gently rinse the metal surface in water and pat it dry with a clean cloth. If you live near the ocean or find that your jewelry seems to tarnish often, you can dip the jewelry into soapy water after dipping items in jewelry cleaner, rinse the jewelry with water again and then pat dry. Excessive polishing will rub off the plating and is not recommended.
Because most of the stones used in our collection are natural gemstones and pearls, they may vary in shape, size and color. Inclusions can be seen in natural stones and are a part of their beauty. Pearls and some gemstones do not stand the force of cleaning agents, polishing cloths or ultrasonic cleaners. Make sure any cleaners you use are safe for use on pearls or gemstones.
